Ibrahim Bouderbala, the President of the Tunisian Parliament, affirmed Tunisia’s leadership, people, and solidarity with the Palestinian people, supporting their legitimate struggle to affirm their national rights, determine their destiny, regain their lands, and establish their independent state with full sovereignty, with its capital in Jerusalem, the first of the two Qiblas and the third of the two holy mosques.

During his speech on the occasion of the sixth conference of the Arab Parliament and the presidents of Arab parliaments, Bouderbala expressed pride in the courageous Palestinian resistance, paying tribute to the martyrs of Gaza and the West Bank and wishing a speedy recovery to the wounded and injured.

He called on all Arab and friendly parliaments, regional and international organizations, to exert all forms of pressure and immediate intervention to halt the ceasefire in Gaza, allowing for the provision of urgent humanitarian aid, the evacuation of the wounded, and alleviating the suffering of Palestinian civilians, especially children, women, and the elderly.

He highlighted the dangers posed by excessive and improper use of artificial intelligence, both individually and collectively, stressing the need to prevent human rights violations and the breach of data confidentiality and personal information.

Bouderbala emphasized the necessity of enacting appropriate laws, public policies, and administrative systems to regulate the course of these technologies, in addition to enhancing cooperation within the Arab Parliament.

He referred to the recent approval by the United Nations General Assembly for the first time in this field, of a resolution proposed by several Arab countries under the title “Seizing the opportunities provided by secure, trustworthy, and reliable artificial intelligence systems for sustainable development purposes.”

This resolution affirmed that the design and use of artificial intelligence, if not done with sufficient guarantees and in a manner consistent with international law, could hinder human progress on the path to sustainable development.

The best example of misuse is what the Zionist entity did by employing artificial intelligence systems to create a database for Palestinian citizens and then exploiting it to bombard Gaza, resulting in the martyrdom of many innocent civilians.
