Tunisian Prime Minister Ahmed El-Hachani affirmed Tunisia’s readiness to further develop cooperation with Kenya across various sectors, including higher education, healthcare, and digitalization.
The affirmation came during his meeting with Kenyan President William Ruto on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, on the sidelines of his participation in the inaugural Korea-Africa Summit.
Attending the meeting were Tunisia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration, Nabil Ammar, and Minister of Economy and Planning, Ferial El Wargui Sabai.
El-Hachani emphasized that the convening of the first major joint committee between the two countries in the future would be an opportunity to strengthen bilateral cooperation and create sustainable economic dynamics.
President Ruto expressed his aspirations to elevate cooperation with Tunisia across various fields, emphasizing the importance of reciprocity in opening a Kenyan embassy in Tunis, just as Tunisia opened its embassy in Kenya back in 2017.
He also stressed the need for further consultation and coordination between the two countries within the framework of the African Union to address common issues, such as combating climate change.
