Minister of Family, Women, Children and the Elderly Amel Belhaj Moussa and the Italian Ambassador to Tunisia, Alessandro Prunas, have affirmed their mutual commitment to enhancing cooperation between the two countries in areas related to family, women, and children. Additionally, they discussed implementing a new program for economic and social integration of families as part of addressing the issue of irregular migration.
The Tunisian Ministry of Women, Family, and Children Affairs issued a statement today, Tuesday, indicating that the Tunisian minister received the new Italian ambassador at the ministry’s headquarters. During the meeting, they agreed on developing a joint plan to support early childhood and vulnerable children’s institutions.
Moreover, the Italian ambassador expressed support for Tunisian President Kais Saied’s call for a more comprehensive approach to addressing irregular migration beyond security solutions. He emphasized that the economic and social integration program for families will contribute to addressing the root causes of irregular migration.
