The Security Directorate at the Ras Ajdir land border crossing between Libya and Tunisia announced that travel will be restricted on the upcoming Saturday. Only four specific categories will be permitted to use the crossing between 7 AM and 4 PM: ambulances, diplomatic delegations, buses, and emergency cases. This measure comes as part of official preparations for reopening commercial crossings at the border. Normal traffic will resume after 4 PM, while family, medical, and tourist travel will continue as usual on regular days.

The Ras Ajdir crossing, a key route between Libya and Tunisia, was reopened in July after being closed for more than three months due to security concerns related to border control and preventing smuggling.

The Ras Ajdir border crossing, a key route between Libya and Tunisia, has faced intermittent closures due to security issues, particularly related to smuggling and maintaining border control. After being shut down for over three months in 2024, the crossing was reopened in July.
