Toyota Motor Corp. announced on Wednesday that its global production from January to November last year reached a record high of 9.23 million vehicles, helped by a recovery in demand in North America and Europe.
The increase comes after the company’s global production rose 11.2% in November from a year earlier to 926,573 vehicles, a monthly record, according to Reuters.
Improvements in the global chip shortage helped boost production outside Japan, where output in November rose 7.9% to 611,656 vehicles, a monthly record, while domestic production rose 18.3% to 314,917 vehicles.
Toyota’s global sales also rose 13.6% in November to 905,669 vehicles, another monthly record, thanks to strong results in North America, Europe, and China.
