TikTok’s “Creativity Program Beta,” an updated version of its creator fund, is now being rolled out beyond the US to countries like Brazil, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, and the UK.
This program is set to replace the old Creator Fund, aiming to offer creators more revenue and opportunities in the real world.
To qualify, creators need to be 18 or older, possess at least 10,000 followers, and have garnered a minimum of 100,000 views over the past month.
According to a communication to TechCrunch, creators producing original content over a minute long can earn up to 20 times more than what the old fund offered. However, once they opt for the new program, they can’t switch back to the old fund.
While TikTok hasn’t confirmed the future of the Creator Fund, it might be discontinued once the Creativity Program leaves its beta phase.
The revenue model for the Creativity Program Beta is structured to give a higher average revenue per qualified video view. This program is a segment of TikTok’s monetization tools, which also encompass LIVE subscriptions and TikTok Pulse.
Furthermore, TikTok provides monetization options like tips, gifts, and a new “Series” feature, allowing creators to offer premium content collections behind a payment barrier.
A single Series can host up to 80 videos, with each having a maximum duration of 20 minutes.
