TikTok introduces “Direct Post,” a new feature enabling users to directly post videos to its platform from several widely-used editing applications, including Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Express, alongside others like Twitch, SocialPilot, and ByteDance’s CapCut.
Direct Post aims to establish a closer integration with third-party apps and developers who seek to intertwine their functionalities with TikTok. It enhances the app‘s existing “Share to” integrations, which permit third-party apps to publish content on TikTok with custom hashtags.
Contrasting with its predecessor, Direct Post allows apps to post video content directly on TikTok and utilize additional features such as caption settings, adjusting audience settings, and more, all within the originating platform before dispatching information to TikTok with a single click.
Notably, this feature facilitates long-form video creators in scheduling content to be published on TikTok via social media management platforms.
TikTok will harness developments across the broad creativity app spectrum through this addition, especially those employing AI technology in video editing.
To utilize Direct Post, creators need to authenticate it with their TikTok account within the third-party app. TikTok also ensures the integrity of partnered apps through a thorough audit before granting them access to Direct Post’s Content Posting API.
Adobe, having just launched an array of new AI software and technologies at its annual MAX conference, emerges as a pivotal partner for TikTok’s new feature, providing Direct Post from Adobe Premiere Pro, renowned for its AI-powered video editing tools, and Adobe Express, a nimble AI-powered creativity app.
Deepa Subramaniam, Adobe VP of Creative Cloud product marketing, emphasized that the seamless Direct Post feature enhances real-time content publishing, empowering creators across skill levels with enhanced efficiency and unhindered creative workflows.
Other noteworthy partners include CapCut, a prominent video editing tool from TikTok’s parent company ByteDance, and the company’s second app to reach the $100 million milestone, as per recent data.ai reports.
Moreover, Twitch streamers can now use Twitch’s Clip Editor to transition their clips to portrait mode for direct TikTok sharing and have the flexibility to export their portrait clip to TikTok as a draft, allowing further editing.
SocialPilot, a social media marketing tool, is also integrating Direct Post, offering automated social media posting to professionals, teams, agencies, and businesses.
