French police have increased security measures in anticipation of the upcoming Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) versus Barcelona match at the Parc des Princes stadium.

This move comes in response to threats of a potential attack by the Islamic State (ISIS) targeting the stadium during the match.

Concrete steps have been taken to enhance security, including the removal of parked cars, installation of concrete barriers, and deployment of heavily armed personnel at various checkpoints around the stadium perimeter.

The heightened security measures aim to ensure the safety of spectators and prevent any potential security breaches during the high-profile Champions League quarterfinal match.

Similar precautions have been observed in Spain and England, as authorities remain vigilant following ISIS’s call for attacks on sporting venues across Europe.

The terrorist organization reportedly posted a photo of the Parc des Princes stadium on social media, urging its supporters to carry out attacks similar to the deadly November 2015 Paris bombings and shootings.

The security measures reflect the ongoing efforts of law enforcement agencies to counter terrorist threats and maintain public safety during major sporting events.
