The UAE has launched the “Tarahum for Gaza” campaign, aiming to provide relief to the Palestinians affected by the war in Gaza.

Thousands of volunteers from various sections of the community, both citizens and residents, flocked to the venue allocated by Dubai Cares at Dubai Festival City, the venue designated by the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) at Etihad Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, as well as the Al-Bait Metwahid Hall in Sharjah under the supervision of the Sharjah Charity Association.

The third phase of the “Tarahum for Gaza” aims to prepare over 20,000 relief packages, including food, medical, and health supplies, in preparation for shipment to the affected brethren in Gaza.

The venues of the third phase of the relief campaign witnessed a large turnout of senior citizens, people of determination, and children, whose families were keen to involve them in assembling aid baskets from 9 a.m. until after 1 p.m.

A significant number of leaders and senior officials also visited the volunteer campaign sites to monitor the progress of work and participate with volunteers in preparing the packages.

The third phase of the “Tarrahm Campaign for Gaza” is overseen by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in coordination with the Ministry of Community Development and in collaboration with the ERC and the World Food Programme.

Dr. Hamad Al Shaibani, Director-General of the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, said that the campaign aligns with the Department’s strategy which prioritizes humanitarian work as a fundamental national value.

Al Shaibani highlighted the department’s commitment to delivering assistance to people in Gaza, mitigating the effects of the conflict, and ensuring all types of humanitarian requirements are met to overcome the challenges faced by children, women, and the elderly.

This comes after the success of the campaign in the previous two events, which saw the participation of more than 10,100 volunteers who prepared 38,000 relief baskets, ranging from food baskets to those designated for children, women, and mothers.

The campaign reflects the UAE’s humanitarian and relief efforts to assist those affected in Gaza, embodying these humanitarian values in numerous initiatives to support and provide relief to the Palestinian people, aiming to alleviate the severity of the humanitarian crisis they face, particularly children and women.
