Tragedy struck in western Sydney as a teenage boy lost his life and another was left in critical condition following a stabbing incident near a school.

Emergency responders rushed to Power Street in Doonside on Friday afternoon following reports of multiple stabbings.

Before authorities arrived, two teenage boys suffering from serious stab wounds presented themselves at Blacktown police station.

Despite efforts to save him, one of the boys succumbed to his injuries at the scene, while the other was transported to the hospital for urgent medical attention.

New South Wales police have apprehended one individual in connection with the incident.

An investigation is currently underway, with police establishing crime scenes both near the school and at the police station.

Local authorities, including the police and school officials, have issued reassurances to the public, promising a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the stabbings. They have urged anyone with information to come forward to assist in the investigation.

As the investigation continues and the community mourns the loss of a young life, there is a renewed determination to work together to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents, especially the youth, in the neighborhood.
