The Sudanese Sovereign Council, in a significant move towards national cohesion, has called for a fresh start, signaling a pivotal moment in Sudan’s ongoing political and social struggles.

This appeal was made during the coordination meeting of regional governors and state leaders in Al Qadarif State, attended by the Deputy Head of the Sovereign Council, General Malik Agar, and several federal ministers.

General Agar, addressing the inaugural session, highlighted the current war in Sudan as a conflict over resources, driven not by the Sudanese people but by unnamed external forces.

He accused these forces of supporting the Rapid Support Forces militias with the aim of occupation and settlement under the guise of promoting democracy.

In a call for national unity and progress, Agar urged the establishment of a new chapter for Sudan.

This vision includes the formation of a national army that embraces diversity and quality to prevent the fragmentation of the Sudanese state.

He pointed out the necessity of adopting a roadmap to end the war and build a Sudanese state grounded in the rule of law, state authority, and the drafting of a national constitution as a precursor to upcoming elections.

This meeting marks a significant step in Sudan’s journey towards resolving internal conflicts and building a democratic and unified nation.
