The Chairman of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereignty Council, Lieutenant General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, embarked on an official visit to Djibouti this Sunday to discuss issues of mutual interest.

According to a statement released by the media of the Transitional Sovereignty Council on Sunday, Al-Burhan is scheduled to hold talks with Djibouti’s President Ismail Omar Guelleh.

These discussions are set to cover the latest developments in Sudan, particularly in the wake of the insurgency by the Rapid Support Forces militia against the Sudanese state.

Additionally, the talks aim to explore ways to enhance and develop bilateral relations in various fields between the two countries.

Accompanying Al-Burhan on this significant diplomatic mission is a delegation comprising the Acting Foreign Minister, Ambassador Ali Al-Sadiq, and the Director of the General Intelligence Service, Lieutenant General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufadal.

This visit signifies a crucial step in strengthening the diplomatic ties between Sudan and Djibouti, as both nations navigate complex regional dynamics.

It underscores Sudan’s efforts in addressing internal challenges and reinforcing its international relationships during its transitional period.

The meeting with President Guelleh is expected to yield fruitful discussions on cooperation in areas such as security, economic development, and regional stability.

This visit also highlights the importance of African nations working collaboratively to address mutual concerns and promote peace and prosperity in the region.

As Sudan continues its journey through a transitional phase, engagements like this are vital for building a stable and secure future.

The discussions in Djibouti will likely contribute to shaping the future course of Sudan’s foreign policy and its role in the regional geopolitical landscape.
