The Sudanese government has expressed deep concern regarding the plight of Sudanese refugees in eastern Chad, particularly in the Adré region, where humanitarian aid has been halted for the past three months.
The Sudanese government has called on the United Nations, its specialized agencies, and the international community to condemn the systematic targeting of unarmed civilians and humanitarian institutions by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
In a statement, the Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted the lack of international attention to the conditions of Sudanese refugees and the minimal humanitarian assistance reaching them, as well as the approximately 11 million displaced people in secure states within Sudan, despite the urgent need, especially following heavy rains and floods in various parts of the country.
The statement further criticized certain entities for creating unnecessary uproar over the opening of border crossings for aid, with a suspicious focus on the Adré crossing, while ignoring all open crossings with neighboring countries, thereby neglecting the needs of Sudanese refugees in Chad.
The Sudanese government reiterated its rejection of the politicization of humanitarian work and urged the international community to provide urgent assistance to all those in need, including internally displaced persons, refugees, and those affected by floods and rains.
