Spain has contributed €250,000 to support humanitarian efforts in Gaza, where Palestinians are facing a severe humanitarian crisis, including shortages of food and water. This was reported by the Spanish newspaper, Cope.
The funds will be utilized for primary healthcare, psychological and social support, and mental health care in Gaza.
Moreover, there will be coordination for the distribution of cash assistance to the most vulnerable families to cover their basic needs.
At the same time, efforts will be made to rehabilitate the Caritas Medical Center in Gaza City, which has currently suffered significant damage due to Israeli bombing and attacks.
The newspaper noted that the aid would be provided in the form of cash transfers, enabling the most vulnerable families to cover expenses for food, rent, or purchase of necessities.
Recent reports on the situation in Gaza indicate a continuous increase in civilian deaths.
The lack of access to food, clean water, and medical treatment is putting civilians at greater risk. Furthermore, 85% of the population has been displaced from their homes, with over 60% of the houses destroyed or damaged. This has also led to the closure of schools in the region.
The majority of U.S. Senate Democrats expressed their support for a statement affirming the United States’ commitment to a two-state resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
Forty-nine out of fifty-one Senate Democrats endorsed an amendment advocating for a negotiated solution that would establish separate Israeli and Palestinian states.
This solution aims to preserve Israel’s identity as a secure, democratic, Jewish state and to realize the Palestinians’ rightful aspirations for their state.
