The Saudi Football Federation and the Saudi Professional League Association have decided to modify the number of players registered in the first team rosters of the Saudi Professional League clubs starting from the next season, 2024-25, increasing the number of foreign players to 10 instead of 8.

The Saudi Football Federation stated in its announcement that the registered players have been adjusted to 25 players instead of the previous 30. Each club is entitled to register 10 non-Saudi players, with the participation of 8 in each match, starting from the 2024-2025 sports season.

According to the new amendments published by the Saudi Football Federation, each club is entitled to register 10 non-Saudi players, with the participation of 8 in each match, starting from the 2024-2025 sports season, according to the following conditions:
1 – Eight non-Saudi players without specifying a minimum birth date.
2 – Two non-Saudi players born in 2003 or later, aiming to enhance the investment aspect in talents at the clubs.
3 – Continuation of each club’s right to register one professional player born in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, born in 1998 or later.
4 – Each team participating in the Roshn Saudi Professional League is allowed to register up to 8 non-Saudi players in the list for each match, in addition to the professional born in Saudi Arabia (excluding the King’s Cup and the Saudi Super Cup competitions, where all registered non-Saudi players can participate).

The Football Federation emphasized in the statement that the decision comes after coordination with the club support strategy, the national teams management, and the technical director of the Saudi Federation, in addition to holding several workshops with the clubs.”
