The representative of Saudi Arabia at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) has condemned the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, accusing the occupation of violating international law and stressing that there is no justification for killing thousands of innocent people and displacing them from their homes and land in Gaza.
In his statement during the ICJ’s hearings on Israel’s violations against the Palestinian people, the Saudi representative said that there is no country that defends the legality of the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories, and this is evidence of its illegality.
He stressed that the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories for five decades has led to the most heinous crimes.
The Saudi representative also called on the ICJ to issue an advisory opinion that affirms the illegality of the Israeli occupation and its grave consequences for the Palestinian people.
The ICJ’s hearings on Israel’s violations against the Palestinian people are being held from February 19 to 26, 2024. The hearings are part of a process that will lead the ICJ to issue an advisory opinion on the legal consequences of Israel’s occupation of the Palestinian territories.
