In response to the escalating humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Russia plans to send an aircraft loaded with humanitarian aid to assist residents in the war-torn region.

A source informed Russian news agency Sputnik on Friday that the aid-laden Ilyushin Il-76 cargo plane is scheduled to depart for Egypt’s Al Arish Airport in the coming days.

Upon arrival at the Egyptian airbase, the Russian humanitarian aid will be handed over to representatives of the Egyptian Red Crescent, who will oversee its distribution to residents in Gaza.

This mission is part of Russia’s ongoing efforts to provide periodic assistance to the Palestinian enclave, which has been severely affected by the ongoing conflict.

The aid comes at a critical time as Gaza faces a devastating humanitarian crisis resulting from the ongoing Israeli military operations in the region.

The conflict has led to the deaths of over 42,000 Palestinians and injured nearly 100,000 others.

Additionally, the war has caused significant destruction to buildings and essential infrastructure, further worsening living conditions for Gaza’s residents.

Russia has consistently called for a ceasefire and has emphasized the need to resume negotiations aimed at achieving a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Moscow has reiterated its support for the “two-state solution,” a framework endorsed by the United Nations Security Council, which seeks to establish a Palestinian state alongside Israel as the basis for lasting peace.
