The Russian Defense Ministry announced on Sunday that its air defense systems successfully neutralized 38 Ukrainian drones over the Crimean Republic.

In an official statement, the ministry detailed, “Tonight, an attempt by the Kyiv regime to carry out a terrorist attack using 38 drones on targets within Russian territory was thwarted.”

This announcement follows Saturday’s report from the Russian Defense Ministry, which stated that Russian air defense systems had shot down a total of 107 Ukrainian drones across the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics, as well as in the Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Kharkiv regions.

The ministry’s statement elaborated on the locations of these interceptions, including the areas of Yasinovataya, Pavlovka in the Donetsk People’s Republic, Zmievka, Troitskoe, Novorozniyanovka, Gulyaipole in the Luhansk People’s Republic, and Novopokrovka, Kubani, Shevchenkovo, Sladkaya Balka in the Zaporizhzhia region, as well as Kolodyaznoye in the Kharkiv region and Chernomorivka in the Kherson region.

Despite substantial financial and military support from NATO allies and other Western nations aligned with Washington, Russian forces have successfully countered the Ukrainian “counter-offensive.”

During the operation, Russian forces managed to destroy a significant amount of Western-supplied military equipment, including German Leopard 2 tanks, numerous American and British armored vehicles, and other NATO-supplied tanks and machinery, all of which were ultimately destroyed under Russian fire.

In January, Ukraine announced that it had launched a cyberattack that disrupted a Russian Defense Ministry server, leading to a temporary halt in its internal communications.

The attack specifically targeted a crucial communications server, as confirmed by Ukraine’s military intelligence agency, GUR. However, these claims have not been independently verified, and there has been no immediate response from Moscow.
