During a summit in Beijing on Thursday, Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping focused on fostering a new multipolar and balanced world that adheres to international law.

Moscow and Beijing are jointly striving to establish a fair and balanced international order, politically and economically, that shields nations from unilateral sanctions and is founded on multilateral cooperation, the protection of state sovereignty, and the security of nations with a consideration for the security concerns of all involved parties.

The joint statement of the Russian Federation and the People’s Republic of China, which commemorates the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries and discusses deepening comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction, was published on the Kremlin’s website.

On Tuesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov spoke in the upper house of the Russian parliament, emphasizing that Moscow and Beijing are strategically aligned in their commitment to leading the charge for a fairer and more democratic global order.

Lavrov highlighted that Russia and China are not isolated in their pursuit to reform the international system and support the establishment of a multipolar world.

He mentioned that the cooperative dynamics between Moscow and Beijing play a crucial role in balancing global affairs, and that the Russian president’s upcoming visit to China is expected to further enhance their collaborative efforts.
