The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on Monday that the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) committed a new massacre in the villages of Sinnar and Singa, central Sudan, resulting in the death of more than 40 civilians.

On June 26, the RSF seized control of the Jabal Moya areas, located approximately 40 kilometers from Sinnar city, before conducting a maneuver across land routes and taking over Singa city, the capital of Sinnar state, and subsequently pillaging it.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement received by “Sudan Tribune,” indicated that “the militia launched a new aggression on various areas in Sinnar state, including the villages of Jabal Moya, where they committed a massacre resulting in the deaths of more than 40 civilians in Sinnar and Singa villages.”

The ministry pointed out that the RSF attacks have caused new waves of displacement, as they carried out executions among civilians, looted their properties, and forcibly evacuated them from their homes.

Additionally, the RSF converted Singa hospital into a military barracks from where they launched attacks on innocent civilians, according to the statement.

The International Organization for Migration revealed that more than 55,000 people fled Singa city due to the fighting, as well as from areas like Abu Hajar and Dalieb due to security concerns, seeking refuge in Rahad locality of Kassala state, Damazine in Blue Nile state, and Jabalain in White Nile state.

The organization stated that the RSF looted and ransacked shops, homes, and the main market in Singa, after seizing the army base in the city and the local government headquarters.

The humanitarian commission in Kassala state expects to receive 130,000 displaced individuals from Sinnar in the coming days, including 50,000 residents of the state and 80,000 who have fled from Khartoum, Jazeera, Darfur, and Kordofan.
