Qatar welcomed the deal reached by the members of the Libyan 6+6 committee on the election laws, affirming that it is a significant step towards achieving a political agreement.

In the same vein, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Qatar’s appreciation to Morocco for its efforts in hosting the talks and its support for dialogue and consensus between the Libyan parties.

It also hailed the efforts of the United Nations Mission in Libya to accomplish its tasks.

The ministry reiterated Qatar’s full solidarity with the Libyan political process and the holding of presidential and parliamentary elections on time for the sake of Libya’s stability.

Last week, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi called for the removal of all foreign forces, mercenaries, and militias from Libya.

El-Sisi emphasized the importance of stability in Libya, noting that both he and his Mauritanian counterpart discussed and agreed on the necessity of a complete withdrawal of all foreign troops, mercenaries, and militias, without exception.
