Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has called upon the Palestinian government and relevant authorities to swiftly provide available resources for the relief of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.

President Abbas voiced his concern over the dire situation in Gaza, where Palestinian residents are facing a comprehensive onslaught, assaults, and fatalities at the hands of Israeli occupying forces. He emphasized the need to alleviate their suffering through immediate and coordinated efforts by governmental entities, the private sector, and civil and charitable organizations. This relief effort will be carried out by organizing urgent humanitarian aid convoys.

Abbas stated, “Our people in Gaza are enduring a comprehensive aggression and attacks, resulting in casualties inflicted by the Israeli occupation forces. This necessitates that we offer every possible means to alleviate their hardships, whether on the governmental level or through private sectors and civil institutions. We must urgently dispatch humanitarian relief convoys to mitigate their suffering.” He underscored that Gaza would not stand alone in the face of this aggression, just like the rest of the occupied Palestinian territories.

Furthermore, Abbas held the Israeli occupation government accountable for cutting off essential supplies such as water, electricity, and food from the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip. He urged the international community to intervene promptly and compel the Israeli authorities to fulfill their legal responsibilities and obligations toward the occupied Palestinian people. Abbas emphasized that the international community also bears the responsibility of providing immediate relief to Palestinians enduring the hardships of blockades and Israeli wars.

This move by President Abbas reflects his commitment to addressing the pressing humanitarian needs in Gaza, where the population has been enduring severe challenges as a result of ongoing conflicts and blockades. The situation in Gaza remains a source of international concern, and efforts to provide humanitarian aid are crucial to alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people in the region.
