The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hussein Ibrahim Taha, met with the Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, on Monday to discuss issues of mutual interest. According to the Saudi Press Agency, their discussions included joint efforts to address regional and international challenges, particularly the Palestinian issue and the situation of Muslim communities worldwide.
During their meeting in Riyadh, both parties emphasized the importance of coordination and consultation in supporting international efforts to promote peace and stability globally, especially in OIC member states. They also appreciated the exceptional relations between the OIC member states and Russia, reaffirming their commitment to enhancing partnership and cooperation within the framework of Russia’s observer status in the OIC. Additionally, they underscored the importance of the political consultation mechanism to continue dialogue on all issues and agendas of mutual interest.
