In a statement released by the Norwegian government on Tuesday, Norway has committed an additional 1 billion Norwegian kroner (about $90 million) to provide Ukrainians with access to the life-saving protection and assistance they desperately need.
Norway’s Foreign Minister, Ine Eriksen Søreide, expressed concern for the civilian population in Ukraine, who continue to suffer the consequences of the ongoing conflict.
She acknowledged the heroic efforts made by the Ukrainian people in dealing with daily attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure.
Søreide emphasized that the Ukrainian people require assistance to endure yet another winter of conflict.
This substantial contribution from Norway underscores the international community’s commitment to supporting Ukraine during these challenging times.
It is expected to help alleviate the suffering of Ukrainian civilians and provide much-needed resources for their protection and well-being.
The additional aid aims to address critical humanitarian needs in Ukraine, where countless people have been affected by the ongoing conflict. As winter approaches, the support from Norway is especially crucial in ensuring that Ukrainians have access to essential services, shelter, and protection against the harsh conditions and challenges they face.
Norway’s commitment reflects the global solidarity with Ukraine and the recognition of the enduring resilience and courage displayed by the Ukrainian people in the face of adversity.
