In what appears to be a breakthrough for Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag’s long-standing pursuit of a key summer signing, the Red Devils have reportedly reached an agreement with Fiorentina for the acquisition of Sofyan Amrabat.

Transfer aficionado Fabrizio Romano announced the news, confirming that a deal had been struck between Manchester United and Fiorentina for Amrabat’s loan transfer.

The primary area of concern for Manchester United in recent times has been their midfield, particularly the need for a reliable defensive presence to complement Casemiro’s role.

After a prolonged period marked by uncertainty and negotiations concerning the permanent transfer fee and loan terms, it now appears that the deal is finally on the cusp of materializing.

According to information from Di Marzio, the Moroccan midfielder is poised to join Manchester United on a loan deal valued at €10 million. Fiorentina had been insisting on the inclusion of a permanent purchase option in the agreement, with a specified price tag of €20 million, coupled with €5 million in potential add-ons.

Romano went on to share that Amrabat is currently en route to undergo medical examinations, a pivotal step before officially becoming a new player for Manchester United, following the successful agreement reached between the two clubs.

With the summer transfer window’s conclusion rapidly approaching, Manchester United took decisive action by dispatching director of football negotiations, Matt Hargreaves, to Florence. His mission was to facilitate discussions and secure the deal, ensuring that the coveted midfield reinforcement would be in place.

This development brings optimism to the Manchester United faithful, who have been eager to see the club strengthen its midfield ranks. Sofyan Amrabat’s addition is expected to bolster the team’s capabilities and contribute to their aspirations for success in the upcoming season.
