A missile attack targeted a commercial ship southwest of the Yemeni coastal city of Al-Hudaydah, causing no damage or injuries, according to two maritime security firms yesterday.
Meanwhile, the US military announced the destruction of four drones in Houthi-controlled areas.
The British Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) reported receiving a notification from a commercial vessel off the Yemeni coast about a missile falling into the water nearby. They confirmed that all crew members were safe and en route to the next port.
The UKMTO stated that the incident occurred about 98 nautical miles south of Al-Hudaydah, Yemen.
The ship’s captain reported that the rocket struck the water near the ship’s side. Ambrey, a British maritime security firm, received a report of what they described as a “missile attack” on a commercial ship about 68 nautical miles southwest of Al-Hudaydah.
They added, “No injuries or damages were reported.”
In a separate incident, Ambrey issued another advisory after a commercial ship reported an object impacting the water about 33 nautical miles south of Al-Mukha, Yemen.
Ambrey stated that it was reported that the object impacted the water 0.2 nautical miles from the ship, prior to another commercial vessel reporting (a rocket attack) west of Al-Mukha.
They continued, noting that the two ships were passing within two to five nautical miles of each other during the incidents.
On Wednesday, US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported that American forces had downed four drones in Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen. CENTCOM posted on its X platform that it was determined that these systems pose an imminent threat to US coalition forces and commercial ships in the region.
