Ambassador Ali Jassim Ahmed Al-Aradi, Head of the Coordination and Follow-up Sector and acting Human Resources Director at the Foreign Ministry, disclosed to “Al-Ayam” that the “Manama Dialogue 2023”, in its 19th edition, is set to shed light on key issues and events in the region and the world. Notably, the security situation in Sudan, alongside the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, will be discussed.
Ambassador Al-Aradi stated: “Bahrain’s hosting of the ‘Manama Dialogue’ for 2023 underscores the Kingdom’s strategic and international standing. It demonstrates our capacity to host such events as a platform for bilateral or multilateral meetings between nations, aiming to advance political initiatives. Moreover, the dialogue encourages boundary-crossing discussions on subjects most relevant to regional and global security challenges.”
The International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) recently announced that the “Manama Dialogue 2023” will be held from 17th to 19th of the coming November. The 18th edition of the Manama Dialogue commenced on November 18th of the past year. The National Security Advisor, Commander of the Royal Guard, Major General Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, gave the opening remarks, while the European Commissioner Ursula von der Leyen participated. Organized by the IISS, the Manama Dialogue stands as a unique forum for government ministers, policymakers, experts, opinion makers, and businessmen to discuss the most pressing challenges in foreign policy, defense, and security in the Middle East.
Moreover, this dialogue – organized by the institute in Manama since 2004 – is a crucial component in the Middle East’s security structure. It allows national leaders, ministers, and policymakers from the Middle East, North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia to come together, discuss the most pressing regional security issues, and exchange policy responses.
