The Waha Oil Company and Sirte Oil Company for Production and Manufacturing have announced the gradual reduction of oil production, calling on the relevant authorities to intervene to ensure the continuity of oil production.

Meanwhile, a statement by Sirte Oil Company stated that due to the ongoing protests and pressures demanding the halt of oil production, the company will begin a gradual reduction in production and is urging the relevant authorities to intervene to maintain oil production.

Similarly, Waha Oil Company warned that the continuation of protests and pressures will lead to a halt in oil production. The company will start gradually reducing production and is calling on the relevant authorities to take action to ensure the continuity of oil production.

Earlier today, the Libyan government, led by Prime Minister Osama Hammad, declared a state of “force majeure” on all oil fields, ports, institutions, and facilities, halting oil production and exports until further notice.

In a televised statement, the Prime Minister said that this decision was a response to attacks on the leadership, employees, and departments of the Central Bank of Libya by groups acting outside the law, with incitement and assistance from the Presidential Council, which lacks legitimate authority.
