The fourth aircraft within the Kuwaiti air bridge of humanitarian aid to Sudan has taken off, carrying 10 tons of food and relief materials for the victims of the floods, torrential rains, and the escalating humanitarian crisis there.

Abdulrahman Al-Oun, the Director-General at the Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society, stated on Thursday, after the plane’s departure, that this flight represents part of several operations to transport relief materials to the Sudanese people. He explained that this shipment consists of relief and food supplies provided by the association.

Al-Oun added that the dispatch of these planes loaded with humanitarian aid follows the directives of the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and embodies the solidarity of the Kuwaiti people with Sudan and their commitment to alleviating the suffering of the victims there. He mentioned that the Kuwaiti air bridge will continue to assist the affected brethren in Sudan, noting that the association has identified the urgent requests and specific needs of the Sudanese citizens through the Sudanese Red Crescent.

He affirmed Kuwait’s support for the Sudanese people during their humanitarian crisis, aiming to alleviate the suffering of those affected and reduce the pain of the victims of the floods and torrents that have recently swept through Sudan.

Kuwait has been actively supporting Sudan through humanitarian efforts since the conflict erupted in April 2023. This support has primarily manifested through the establishment of an air bridge to deliver crucial supplies to the Sudanese people affected by the crisis. The Kuwaiti government, under the directives of the Emir, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, has facilitated several flights carrying tons of food and relief materials. These efforts are part of a broader expression of solidarity from the Kuwaiti people and government towards Sudan during its humanitarian crisis, aiming to alleviate the suffering caused by the conflict and natural disasters like floods.
