Sheikh Ahmad Fahd Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Kuwait’s Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister, and his French counterpart, Sébastien Le Cornu, explored ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two friendly nations.

The General Staff of the Kuwaiti Army, in an official statement, highlighted that the ministers deliberated on operational cooperation and technical arrangements between the Kuwaiti Defense Ministry and the French side.

Kuwait and France have maintained friendly diplomatic relations for many years. These ties encompass various fields including economic, cultural, and military domains.

Both nations have historically cooperated on defense-related matters. This includes arms deals, joint training exercises, and knowledge sharing in the field of defense and security.

The ministers of defense from both nations regularly meet to discuss and bolster their defense ties. In the context you provided, Sheikh Ahmad Fahd Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah from Kuwait and Sébastien Le Cornu from France are the focal points of these discussions.

The Middle East, where Kuwait is located, has been a region of strategic interest for many global powers, including France. Given the volatile nature of the region, stemming from political, sectarian, and resource-based conflicts, defense and security cooperation becomes paramount for countries like Kuwait.

France has a robust defense industry and is one of the world’s leading arms exporters. Many Middle Eastern countries, including Kuwait, have turned to France for advanced military equipment and technology.

Meetings like the one mentioned in the text emphasize the importance both countries place on maintaining and enhancing their defense and security ties. They also highlight the evolving nature of defense cooperation in response to regional and global challenges.
