The Kuwaiti Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy has announced power cuts in several residential areas across the country.

This decision, according to the ministry, aims to maintain the stability of the national electrical grid.

In a statement released today, the ministry identified the affected areas as Abdullah Al-Mubarak, West Abdullah Al-Mubarak, Jaber Al-Ahmad, South Jahra, Fahaheel, Hadiya, Salmiya, East Hawally, Khaitan, and Funaitees.

Earlier in the day, the ministry had also cut electricity in parts of Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, Hawally, Mubarak Al-Kabeer, Sabah Al-Ahmad, Al-Omariya, Farwaniya, Old Jahra, and Abu Fatira.

The ministry urged residents to reduce electricity consumption during peak hours, specifically from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, by following its guidelines.

They also noted that any new updates regarding the status of the electrical grid would be communicated promptly.

The power cuts were attributed to a fuel supply issue that occurred yesterday, which disrupted the gas supply and led to the shutdown of several power generation units at the Subiya and Doha West power and water desalination plants.
