The Jordanian Armed Forces, represented by the Royal Naval Force and Royal Marine Corps, announced its joining of the International Maritime Security Construct based in Bahrain.
This maritime alliance is not the first of its kind for the Kingdom, as Jordan has been an active member of the Combined Maritime Forces since 2008.
Through this alliance, the leadership of the Royal Naval Force and Royal Marine Corps assumed command of Combined Task Force 152 twice in 2016 and 2019, as well as Combined Task Force 151 in 2022, according to the Jordan News Agency (PETRA).
The Jordanian leadership highlighted the incorporation of artificial intelligence technology into unmanned systems by the Royal Naval Force and Royal Marine Corps, in partnership with the US Central Command.
The Jordanian Unmanned Systems Center was inaugurated in 2022 within the Jordanian Royal Naval Force.
Joining the International Maritime Security Alliance will further enhance the role of the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army in international and regional security, according to PETRA.
