Jordan and Australia held discussions on Wednesday regarding the latest developments in Gaza and the West Bank amid increasing tensions in the region.
The conversation was part of ongoing diplomatic efforts to address the growing conflict.
According to a statement from the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi received a call from Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong.
The two diplomats discussed the escalating Israeli actions in Gaza and the West Bank and its broader implications for regional stability.
The conversation also covered various bilateral issues, with both ministers expressing a strong commitment to enhancing cooperation and strengthening ties across multiple sectors between Jordan and Australia.
Safadi emphasized the urgent need for coordinated international efforts to halt Israel’s military actions in Gaza and its illegal measures in the West Bank, particularly in Jerusalem’s Islamic and Christian holy sites.
He highlighted that stopping the aggression is crucial to de-escalating tensions across the region.
In addition, the ministers discussed the ongoing collaboration on delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza, ensuring that assistance reaches all parts of the besieged area.
