Italy’s Defense Minister Guido Crosetto announced on Wednesday that Italy would provide medical treatment for 100 Palestinian children from Gaza in its hospitals.

This humanitarian operation will commence in the coming days, involving the transportation of these children via airplanes and ships.

The first group of 30 children will be flown in from Egypt, where they sought medical assistance after escaping the Israeli bombardment in Gaza.

An additional 30 children, along with their families, will arrive in Italy at the end of January aboard the military ship “Vulcano,” departing from the Egyptian port of El-Arish.

The details of how and when the remaining 40 children will be transported have not been disclosed yet.

Minister Crosetto emphasized the importance of taking action in the face of the serious humanitarian crisis, stating, “One cannot remain indifferent in the face of this humanitarian crisis.”

He further asserted that Italy’s involvement is primarily a moral duty rather than a political one.

According to the statement, the medical treatment for these children will be provided in hospitals located in Bologna, Venice, Genoa, and Rome.
