Despite the arrival of autumn, Italy finds itself dealing with scorching temperatures, all thanks to the African cyclone that has made its way to the country, according to reports from the Italian newspaper “Il Giornale.”

The newspaper highlights that there is an expectation for this ongoing heatwave, a rare occurrence in October following the start of autumn, to gradually subside in the upcoming week.

During this period, Italy is set to experience much-needed relief with rainfall, storms, and a noticeable drop in temperatures.

The African cyclone is projected to gradually recede from Italy between Saturday, October 14, and Sunday, October 15. Until then, most regions in Italy can expect fair weather and elevated temperatures, as the country continues to be influenced by the lingering summer cyclone.

For the most part, skies are anticipated to remain clear across the nation, with some increase in cloud cover expected in Liguria, Upper Tuscany, and along the coasts of Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia, particularly during the morning hours.

There’s also a possibility of local fog forming, while temperatures will persist above the seasonal average. Maximum temperatures are set to exceed 30 degrees Celsius, not just in central and northern regions but also in the southern areas, encompassing Sicily and Apulia.

The entry of these weather patterns into the Mediterranean, where temperatures remain high, is likely to trigger the formation of a cyclone, ushering in a period of challenging weather conditions for various Italian regions.

Expectations include rainfall and even snowfall at altitudes nearing 2000 meters, coupled with a significant temperature drop of up to 10 degrees Celsius when compared to the days leading up to it.

This exceptional meteorological phenomenon underscores the ongoing challenges posed by climate fluctuations and their repercussions on regions accustomed to milder autumn temperatures.
