An incident on a highway near the Beit Hagai settlement resulted in the tragic death of an Israeli woman, identified as Batsheva Nagari. Additionally, a man sustained severe injuries during the attack where their car was targeted by two dozen bullets from a vehicle in motion.

Miraculously, a young girl believed to be Nagari’s daughter, was in the car during the assault but remained unhurt.

In response to the tragic event, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed their ongoing pursuit of the assailants. Multiple roadblocks have been erected in the vicinity to aid the operation. There are reports from Palestinian sources suggesting that Hebron has been encircled by the IDF, with stringent checks on individuals attempting to access or depart the city.

Ms. Nagari, a resident of Beit Hagai, juggled her roles as a mother to three children and a nursery teacher. Details emerging from various reports suggest that Nagari and her six-year-old daughter had been given a lift home by the injured man.

In the wake of the incident, Hamas, a Palestinian militant faction, lauded the attack. They deemed it a “natural retaliation” to the ongoing Israeli settlement expansions in the West Bank.

Notably, Israel’s advanced defense system, Iron Dome, successfully intercepted an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) on Sunday that was detected approaching from the Rafah area in the Gaza Strip. The UAV’s trajectory was monitored from the moment it took off, according to reports from Hebrew news sources.

Ynet, a prominent Hebrew newspaper, revealed that the Israeli military had been closely observing the drone’s movements.

Avichai Adraee, the spokesperson for the Israeli occupation army, confirmed the incident, stating that the Israeli forces intercepted the drone in the airspace over the Gaza Strip as it was heading towards Israeli territories. Fortunately, the drone did not breach the Israeli airspace.

Adraee emphasized that the Iron Dome defense system effectively neutralized the drone, averting any potential threat to the residents in the vicinity of Gaza. He underlined that the warnings and protocols were activated in accordance with established policies.

This incident underscores the ongoing security challenges faced by the region and the continual efforts to maintain safety for both sides. The interception also showcases the effectiveness of Israel’s advanced defense technology in responding to potential threats in real-time.
