Iran’s President-Elect, Masoud Pezeshkian, emphasized in an article for the “Tehran Times” that Russia is an important strategic ally, highlighting his commitment to expanding and strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
President-Elect Pezeshkian stated, “Russia is a strategic ally and an important neighbor for Iran. My administration will remain committed to expanding and strengthening our cooperation.
I will continue to prioritize bilateral and multilateral cooperation with Russia, especially within frameworks such as BRICS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the Eurasian Economic Union.”
He added, “China and Russia have stood by us during challenging times, and we hold great respect for our friendship with them. Our long-term strategic agreement with China serves as a roadmap for the future of our bilateral relations and marks a turning point towards a mutually beneficial partnership.”
Pezeshkian further explained, “Recognizing that the global landscape has evolved beyond traditional dynamics, my administration is committed to fostering mutually beneficial relations with emerging international players in the Global South, particularly African nations.
We will strive to enhance our collaborative efforts and strengthen our partnerships to achieve mutual benefits for all parties involved.”
