The “International Freedom Flotilla Coalition” has announced its intention to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza via sea amidst the hardships and suffering caused by intensive Israeli attacks. A press conference was held by the coalition at the Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) headquarters in Istanbul, Turkey, discussing their preparations for delivering aid to Gaza.

During the press conference, the coalition stated its mission to sail to Gaza to end the Israeli blockade, which they described as illegal and deadly. The intended flotilla aims to deliver thousands of tons of emergency humanitarian aid directly to Palestinians in Gaza. The coalition comprises numerous international civil society organizations and activists, including Turkey’s Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH).

Bulent Yildirim, the head of IHH, criticized Israel for continuing the blockade and increasing massacres in Gaza despite global opposition. He highlighted the Freedom Flotilla’s goal to lift the siege on Gaza and provide the Islamic world and the international community with an opportunity to find solutions.

The situation in Gaza remains critical, with continued Israeli attacks across the region, including near hospitals and in the southern parts of the enclave where ground operations are intensifying. The latest reports indicate a significant increase in casualties, with the death toll in Gaza reaching 28,337 Palestinians, and about 1,139 people killed in Israel since October 7, 2023. The conflict has also resulted in widespread damage to infrastructure, including homes, educational facilities, hospitals, and places of worship.

A recent ceasefire mediated by Egypt between Israel and Islamic Jihad has come into force after a three-day attack, which resulted in at least 44 Palestinian casualties in Gaza, including 15 children. More than 300 individuals have been injured as a result of the assault.
