Germany has supplied Ukraine with 10 Leopard 1A5 tanks and about 13 million rounds of small arms ammunition within a span of one week, according to the German Ministry of Defense on Wednesday.
In an official statement, the ministry outlined the new military assistance package which includes the delivery of 10 Leopard 1A5 tanks, one TRML-4D radar for airspace monitoring, 16 unmanned reconnaissance drones, around 13 million pieces of small arms ammunition, and 4 HX-81 vehicles.
The Western nations, through their financial, military, and political support to Kyiv, aim to hinder the objectives of the ongoing Russian military operation in Ukraine, which has been ongoing since February 2022.
However, Moscow has reiterated on multiple occasions that the military operation in the Donbass region will not cease until all assigned tasks are accomplished.
Previously, Russia sent a memorandum to NATO member countries due to arms supply to Ukraine.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov cautioned that any shipment containing weapons to Ukraine would become a target of Russia’s concern.
The assistance provided by Germany underscores the ongoing efforts to bolster Ukraine’s defense capabilities amid geopolitical tensions.
