Jassem Mohammed Al-Badiwi, the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), expressed full solidarity and support for the Arab Republic of Egypt against provocative statements made by the Israeli Prime Minister, aimed at tarnishing Egypt’s image and undermining its significant and leading role in the region, particularly in its clear mediation efforts to resolve the Gaza crisis.
The Secretary-General highlighted Egypt’s pivotal role in enhancing regional and international stability through its ongoing mediation efforts to calm tensions and cease fire in the Gaza Strip, alleviating the suffering of the Palestinian people since the crisis began.
Al-Badiwi firmly rejected such irresponsible statements that do not serve peace in the region but instead contribute to escalating tensions and worsening situations. He emphasized the necessity for Israel to adhere to international principles and signed agreements, as well as to cease its aggressive actions in Gaza and all Palestinian territories.
The GCC Secretary-General concluded his statement by reaffirming the council’s steadfast support for Egypt in its continuous endeavors to enhance security and stability in the region and its joint efforts with Arab and Islamic countries to achieve shared goals in facing common challenges.
