Gaza Faces Aid Obstruction

Thirteen non-governmental organizations have issued a report warning about the severe disruptions in delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Among these organizations, Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders) emphasized that recent events have worsened the humanitarian disaster, as NGOs continue to face obstacles due to ongoing Israeli military operations.

Médecins Sans Frontières highlighted recent massacres in “safe areas” and the bombing of a UN school used as a shelter in Nuseirat.

The 13 NGOs, including Oxfam, CARE, Save the Children, and Doctors of the World, condemned the systematic obstruction of aid by Israel and attacks on relief operations.

Since the Israeli ground offensive in early May on Rafah in southern Gaza, humanitarian workers have struggled to deliver aid.

The Israeli army’s control of the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing since early May has led to the closure of the crossing and a “complete halt” to transportation activities, according to the NGOs.

Médecins Sans Frontières reported that southern crossings are entirely closed or logistically inaccessible due to deteriorating security conditions.

They noted that “tons of critically needed aid” are blocked. More than 1,500 trucks carrying humanitarian aid, including medical supplies, first aid materials, and essential goods, are stuck in the Egyptian city of Al-Arish.

The continued restrictions and challenges in delivering aid to Gaza are exacerbating the already dire humanitarian situation, underscoring the urgent need for solutions to ensure the uninterrupted flow of essential aid to those in need.
