Foreign ministers from the G7, including major global powers and the European Union, issue a call to action regarding Libya’s political stalemate, stressing the urgent need for constructive dialogue and the appointment of a new UN envoy.

In a statement relayed by the Italian embassy in Libya, the G7 warns of the grave risks stemming from the ongoing deadlock, emphasizing the importance of swift progress towards a roadmap for presidential and parliamentary elections.

They express commitment to supporting Libya in overcoming the prolonged conflict, fueled by external forces and mercenaries.

The G7’s plea underscores the vulnerability of Libya to interference from external actors, posing threats to security, politics, and the economy.

The coalition emphasizes the necessity of fostering peace, prosperity, and stability, safeguarding Libya’s independence, territorial integrity, and national unity.
