Palestinian media and activists reported early Tuesday that the electricity supply had been cut off at the Indonesian Hospital in northern Gaza due to a lack of fuel.
The Gaza Strip has been grappling with electricity disruptions following the halt in operation of its power station due to a shortage of the necessary fuel required for its functioning.
Earlier, a spokesperson for Gaza’s Ministry of Health expressed in a press statement that they have less than 48 hours left before all electricity generators come to a halt. He added that the mechanism for delivering aid is slow and cannot change the current situation.
He also criticized the process for the delivery of humanitarian and medical aid, saying, “Today, we are working within the framework of saving whatever lives we can among the wounded.”
He stated that the insufficient supply of fuel to Gaza’s hospitals would force them, within hours, to redirect all healthcare services toward life-saving procedures.
He emphasized the necessity of delivering medical aid according to the priorities set by the Ministry of Health and the lists provided to international organizations.
The war on Gaza continues into its 18th day since the start of “Operation Al-Aqsa Tempest” on October 7, 2023. The Gaza Strip has been subjected to Israeli airstrikes.
The toll from Israeli airstrikes on Gaza has reached 5,087 casualties, including 2,055 children, 1,119 women, and 217 elderly individuals. Additionally, 15,273 people have sustained various injuries. This is in addition to the extensive destruction of residential areas, infrastructure, and the widespread displacement of the population.
It’s worth noting that the Israeli army has announced its intention to intensify its strikes on Gaza in preparation for the next phase of its offensive against the territory.
