Three sewage stations in Egypt witnessed massive explosions, resulting in the injury of three individuals who were transported to hospitals in Khanka and Salam for treatment.
The initial inspection of the simultaneous explosions at three sewage stations in Khanka, Marg, and Khosoos revealed that “the cause was a gas leak in the sewage lines coordinated with Cairo’s sewage system inside a station in Khosoos, connected to Qalaj in Khanka and Marg in Cairo.”
The inspection revealed “a gas leak in a 1200-meter sewage line belonging to petroleum companies within the Greater Cairo sewage lines via pipelines. There was a mixing of sewage lines with petroleum substances, leading to the leak and a fire at the station. The fire was contained in Khosoos and Qalaj.”
It was noted that “the Khosoos station affected by the incident serves the Qalaj and Marg stations. When the leak occurred at the station, it affected the rest, and currently, 60% of the station is operational.”
