European Commission: Ukraine Exports 41 Million Tons of Grain

The European Commission has announced that a significant milestone has been achieved in exporting 41 million tons of grains and related products from Ukraine to global destinations via the “Solidarity Corridors.”

According to an official statement released by the European Commission, Ukraine has managed to export around 60% of its grains since the onset of the Russian crisis in February 2022, with 40% of these exports facilitated through the Black Sea Grains Initiative.

The European Commission highlighted that the Solidarity Corridors have been instrumental in the export of over 36 million tons of non-agricultural products from Ukraine, encompassing raw materials, iron, steel, minerals, and wood.

The statement further emphasized that the Solidarity Corridors contribute to Ukraine’s economy and global food security, all the while Russia continues to target grain ports and vital infrastructure.

Last year, the European Union devised an action plan to establish the “Solidarity Corridors,” aimed at ensuring Ukraine’s capacity to export grains and import necessary commodities.

This effort ranges from humanitarian aid to animal feed and fertilizers, primarily through Romania and Poland. The initiative seeks to provide alternative pathways to global markets as Ukraine grapples with the crisis.
