European Union Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borrell stated on Monday that the EU firmly rejects any attempt to classify the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) as a terrorist organization.

Borrell emphasized that the ongoing tragedy in Gaza has surpassed all limits and is wholly unacceptable.

In a press conference held with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Borrell expressed a commitment to working towards peace and appreciated the collaborative efforts with Jordan.

Borrell also discussed enhancing bilateral cooperation with Jordan, expressing a desire to improve relations in areas such as security, politics, economics, and trade.

The EU official condemned the attacks by settlers on humanitarian aid convoys and praised Jordan’s efforts in achieving peace and stability in the region.

The Israeli occupation continues its intense and unprecedented aggression on Gaza by air, land, and sea, resulting in thousands of deaths and injuries, most of whom are children and women.

Thousands of victims remain under the rubble due to ongoing shelling and hazardous conditions, compounded by a severe blockade and strict restrictions on the entry of fuel and urgent humanitarian aid needed to alleviate the catastrophic humanitarian situation.
