The European Union has found no evidence that China is supplying weapons to Russia, according to the EU’s foreign policy chief Josep Borrell.

Speaking at the Shangri-La Dialogue forum in Singapore, Borrell stated, “China has committed not to supply arms [to Russia] and we don’t have evidence that this is happening.”

He acknowledged, however, the complexities surrounding dual-use items that can be utilized for both civilian and military purposes.

Borrell pointed out that components made in Western countries, including the United States, Europe, and Great Britain, might be used in the production of Russian military equipment. He clarified that the issue is not limited to China alone.

Earlier, the Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Wang Wenbin refuted allegations of China supplying weapons to Russia.

He emphasized that China has always managed the export of military products prudently and responsibly, with strict control over the export of dual-use items. Additionally, Beijing highlighted that blaming Washington for the Ukraine conflict will not help resolve the ongoing crisis.
