Angela Martini, Deputy Ambassador of the European Union Delegation to Jordan, reaffirmed the EU’s support for Jordan’s efforts to achieve political modernisation.
Her remarks came during her participation in the launch of the “Participate Correctly” campaign by the Jordanian Independent Election Commission on Wednesday. The campaign, organized in collaboration with the “Hayat-Rased” Center and supported by the European Union, is part of the “Two Million Voters” initiative.
Martini emphasized her support and encouragement for the young volunteers participating in the campaign, highlighting the importance of their role in this critical period leading up to election day. The campaign aims to encourage citizens to participate effectively and correctly on election day, increase awareness about the election law, the voting process, and the principles that voters should consider on September 10.
The head of the Independent Election Commission, Musa Maaytah, stated in a press release today that such initiatives are of great importance, especially as they will travel across the Kingdom’s governorates, engaging with citizens face-to-face. Maaytah stressed the need for correct participation in the upcoming elections, which can produce outcomes that align with Jordan’s state priorities and better meet the aspirations of Jordanian citizens.
Dr. Amer Bani Amer, Director of the Hayat-Rased Center, expressed the enthusiasm of the young participants in the campaign, noting their commitment to conveying messages to citizens about the significance of these parliamentary elections for the Kingdom and the necessity of correct participation on election day. He pointed out that the campaign will continue until a week before election day, covering the entire Kingdom, from its north to south, including its villages, deserts, camps, and most active public places in various governorates.
