President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt met with the leader of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Abu Dhabi, highlighting the deep-rooted fraternal ties between Egypt and the UAE at leadership levels and amongst their peoples.
Both leaders expressed admiration for the close coordination between the two nations, emphasizing their mutual objective of ensuring stability in the Arab region, particularly at a time when global and regional challenges are on the rise.
The discussion delved into ways to strengthen bilateral relations across various fronts, especially in terms of invigorating economic cooperation, joint investments, and trade exchange. In addition, the leaders focused on boosting cooperation in several developmental sectors that serve the interests of both nations. They also reviewed the latest developments in regional conditions and issues of shared interest.
The two leaders agreed on continuing collaborative efforts to resolve ongoing crises in the region in a manner that respects the interests of the Arab populace, fortifies Arab solidarity, and fosters regional stability and prosperity.
President El-Sisi and the UAE leader also touched upon the upcoming UN Climate Change Conference, COP28, set to be hosted by Dubai later this year. They deliberated on drawing insights from Egypt’s successful hosting of the previous COP27 event in Sharm El-Sheikh, aiming to bolster global collaborative climate actions that safeguard environmental resources and serve humanity’s best interests.
Furthermore, during the meeting, President El-Sisi congratulated the UAE on its monumental achievement in the space sector, marked by its completion of the longest space mission by an Arab astronaut. He extended his best wishes to the UAE and its people for continued progress and prosperity.
The United Arab Emirates and Egypt have historically shared strong bilateral relations in various sectors, including political, economic, and cultural.
