Egypt has been ranked among the top 10 countries in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) in the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) technology to develop public services for citizens, according to a report by the Oxford Insights for 2023.
The report is based on three levels of assessment of AI adoption by governments:
• Government technology adoption: This level includes the use of AI in various public services, such as healthcare, education, and finance.
• Information infrastructure development: This level includes the availability of technology and infrastructure needed to support AI adoption, such as the internet and data centers.
• Sector resilience: This level includes the availability of talent and skills needed to develop and apply AI.
It is worth noting that Egypt has made significant progress in the adoption of AI technology. The Egyptian government has launched several initiatives and projects in this field, such as the launch of the Egypt Digital Platform and the government’s digital transformation project. The government also supports the creation and development of the skills needed to apply AI through education and training programs.
The adoption of AI can contribute to improving the quality of public services provided to citizens in Egypt. For example, AI can be used to improve the efficiency of healthcare, education, and financial services. AI can also be used to promote transparency and combat corruption.
It is expected that the adoption of AI technology in Egypt will continue to grow in the coming years. With the continued support of the Egyptian government in this field, Egypt is likely to become one of the leading countries in AI adoption in the MENA region.
